Third in Marsala Series “Marsala Triad 3″ 16″x20″ acrylic on canvas original – $500 Amy Dufort Clairmont

This is the third in the Marsala Triad collection, “Marsala Triad 3”, an acrylic painting on canvas. Inspired by the Pantone 2015 color of the year Marsala, I chose the triad palette for its playfulness and elegance. This collection of originals is meant to be displayed together.

“Marsala Triad 2” Acrylic Painting

"Marsala Triad 2" 11x14'' acrylic painting on canvas by Texas artist Amy Dufort Clairmont.

Second in Marsala Series “Marsala Triad 2″ 11″x14″ acrylic on canvas original – $300 Amy Dufort Clairmont

Second acrylic painting in the “Marsala Triad” collection of three works inspired by the Pantone 2015 color of the year. I am enjoying the challenge of creating this trio based on the same color palette and yet distinctive as individual works. In fact, I found this one needed a bit more creative love after I completed the third and saw the group as a whole.

“Marsala Triad 1” Acrylic Painting

First in Marsala Series “Marsala Triad 1″ 11″x14″ acrylic on canvas original – $300 Amy Dufort Clairmont

The first work in my Marsala Series, inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015, is “Marsala Triad 1”. I studied my color wheel for a palette that struck my fancy. I particularly liked the play of this bright blue off the marsala and quickly decided that spring green would make a lively third color, choosing the triad relationship.

This playful acrylic painting, Marsala Triad 1, was a joy to create. I can’t stop at one, but will continue to explore this triad in upcoming works for the Marsala Series.

“Pensive” Acrylic Painting

My subject, unaware, is caught in a moment of thoughts one dares not interrupt. Perfect to capture on my easel, saving the moment forever.

A companion piece to “The Girls”, this work is in a private collection. Prints are available.

“Pensive” Progress Day 2

Day 3 in the 30 paintings in 30 days and I submit to you, progress on the current work in my studio, “Pensive”. This painting is demanding more and I am willing to allow it to lead me. While it is a companion piece to Day 1’s “The Girls”, this painting tell a different story and I find myself reaching for my brushes more than my palette knives.

“Pensive” Progress

This companion piece to “The Girls” is off to a great start. I have laid in the foundation of the piece and see the suggestion of the result I am looking for. Progress for “Pensive” will have to suffice the day with a progress photo on this day 2 of 30 paintings in 30 days. I have an Austin Spurs game to attend with the family.

“The Girls” Acrylic Painting

001-The-Girls-2015-01-01-300x300px-60quality

Capturing such an intimate moment, an almost spiritual connection that these sisters share, simply called to be created at my easel. The vastness of the ocean seems to call out the knowledge of a creator to these young ones. I see the creator communicating with the created.
